The Battle of the Great Cane Brake (December 22, 1775) was a, if not the, pivotal Revolutionary War skirmish in Greenville County, SC, where Patriot forces under Col. Richardson defeated Loyalists. Commemorated annually by the SC Society Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), this, the “Snow Campaign,” occurred near the Reedy River.
